Duty free alcohol in Dubai??

We are due to dock in Dubai (Port Rashid I think) with Celebrity and are staying on in Dubai for 4 nights before flying home.

 

My question is -

 

Is there a duty free shop at the port for arrivals and will we be able to purchase alcohol to drink in our hotel room over the following four nights?

 

Would it be cheaper to purchase on ship and let them store it for us until we disembark?

There was a duty free shop in the old cruise terminal when we were there last year. However, this April, there was NOT one in the new cruise terminal.

 

If you are going to Muscat, Oman, there is a duty free shop there. It was about 100 feer from where our ship (Ocean Princess) docked. They had a good selection and good prices.

We were in Dubai airport in April enroute to China. There was a shop selling wine but it was very expensive so we did not bother. If you can buy it somewhere else before arriving in Dubai I would do so.

There is no longer a duty-free shop in the arrivals area of Port Rashid, Dubai.

 

Anyone over 21 is allowed to import up to 4 litres total of beer, wine and spirits. There are no alcohol shops in Dubai so your best bet is to buy duty-free on board and take it ashore with you..

 

The only places that sell alcohol in Dubai are licensed bars and restaurants, usually within 4 & 5* hotels. Expect to pay £5-6 = USD 8-11 a drink.
