prepare4it Posted September 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2012 I read somewhere that someone took a guided tour of Allure or Oasis while it was in port after passengers had disembarked and before sailI away. They booked a future cruise while there. Is this really possible or do you have to know someone?
bajathree Posted September 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Must have either been a TA or guest of a TA that was taking a ship tour.
hazeleyez3 Posted September 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2012 There was a TA that invited my husband's friend (who in turn, invited us) to tour one of Carnival's ships. We saw the same thing done on the Brilliance a few weeks ago. Both in Copenhagen and Helsinki. Passengers were also on board so those touring usually have some sort of name tag or "necklace" to identify them.
Rare Lionesss Posted September 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Also happenned on the Freedom of the Seas in July. They walked on the one entrance at Port, as we walked on the other. I am guessing a group of about 15. Had ship map in their hands. They had name tags, and were on a personal escorted tour by two RCI employees, bumped into them many times, and then they were left to roam about. Saw them leaving about 2:30- 3:00pm Safe travels. FloridaMomma Posted September 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2012 I wish! We were in Nassau with Oasis last weekend. We commented on how we would rather have taken a tour of Oasis than walk around Nassau!
prepare4it Posted September 19, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted September 19, 2012 We are thinking about booking a family cruise with grandparents, kids and grandkids, but I am not sure if we would really like the mega ships Allure and Oasis. When we get off Liberty in November, I was wondering what my husband and I could do to arrange a tour of another ship while we are in FL.
navychica Posted September 19, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2012 My Navy ship was in Kusadasi across from Independence (I think) a few weeks ago. Cruise staff came over and asked if any sailors wanted to take a tour. Unfortunately, I didn't know about it until later or I would've jumped at the chance! HaraldOslo Posted September 19, 2012 #12 Share Posted September 19, 2012 I got a tour of Jewel of the Seas when it was docked in Oslo. Knew someone who worked on the ship who arranged it for me. Got a nice lunch and had a drink at one of the bars. Seeing as I now has booked a cruise it was well worth it to RCI to let me visit :-D
sherilyn70 Posted September 19, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 19, 2012 When we were on the Oasis in February there was a group of about 20-30 people doing a tour.
