Stopovers in Paris

Does anyone have any advice on booking a minimum fee stop over flights (from NYC) via Paris?

We did this 2 years ago (NYC->Paris->Venice->NYC) and there was no fee for a 2 day stop over in Paris.

But, now when i search for a 2 day stop over (NYC->Paris->Copenhagen->NYC) the prices (as compared to no stop over) seem to be close to taking a totally different extra flight.

Thanks.

Yes; you can do this on KLM. I checked a "dummy" set of flights NYC to CPH rt in April ($869). With a 2 day stopover in PAR on the outbound, the cost is $894.

Thank you for the suggestion.

But, maybe i'm doing something wrong? Could you let me know if there is anything specific you did?

On KLM:

rt (w/o stop over in Paris):

Flight USD 867.24

New York (John F. Kennedy International) - Copenhagen (Copenhagen Airport) - Return Departure: Wed 22 May 13 16:50 New York - Thu 23 May 13 09:10 Copenhagen Return: Sun 2 Jun 13 10:45 Copenhagen - 13:30 New York

Multiple destinations (with 2 day stop over in Paris---Same flights):

Flights USD 1,351.57

per adult

Flight 1: New York (John F. Kennedy International) - Paris (Charles De Gaulle Airport) Wed 22 May 13 16:50 New York - Thu 23 May 13 06:00 Paris

Flight 2: Paris (Charles De Gaulle Airport) - Copenhagen (Copenhagen Airport) Sat 25 May 13 07:20 Paris - 09:10 Copenhagen

Sheer fun,

There are people much more experienced then me that may offer suggestions. I wanted to do the same thing only Paris/FCO. Air France had this but the dates didn't work out. What we wound up doing was LAX to Heathrow (LHR) then LHR to Orly. We then are doing Vueling a budget line from Orly to Rome. On the return we are doing Rome to LAX. If the stopovers don't work for you, maybe some of the discount European airlines will for the intraeuropean flights.

Secondly, I entered Paris to Copenhagen in Kayak and SAS had a flight for $189 one way so it may be cheaper to piece it together.

Best,

Alli
