Question re MP3 Players & Xrays

Leaving on the Conquest this weekend and recently got MP3 players. Does anyone know if it's safe for an MP3 player to go through the xrays? I seem to remember someone telling me that the xray would erase the music on them.

I Work At The Airport, They Go Thru All The Time, Keep Them With You In A Carry-on, Not In Checked Bags. They Use A Stronger X-ray Machine On Checked Bags In Most Airports, Same With Film, You Don't Want To Check That Either.

Xrays won't erase any mp3 or memory. However, strong magnetic fields can. I once accidentaly left my pocket pc in my check in and when I got it, it was totally erased. It must have passed through some intense metal detector.
