OMWoody Posted May 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2005 We are booked on Amadeus Poetry June 19th. Curious about the difference between booking this cruise with Amadeus or Avalon--what is the difference? Is it the same--is one more expensive than the other? Do they use the same hotels on the pre and post cruise stays? It seems more expensive than Viking--is it that different? We are new to river cruising--have done many ocean cruises and one wonderful barge cruise (French Country Waterways).
unberwoob Posted May 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2005 I believe Avalon and Amedeus are the same company. Avalon is sold by Globus, and Amedeus is sold by Brennan. Brennan is a part of Globus. I don't know about pricing, but I think the cost of the cruises are the same. I know Globus gives an AARP discount and usually has discounts if you book early for a cruise the following year. We were on an Avalon cruise. Some people had booked through Globus and others on the cruise has booked through Brennan. It just depends which company you like the best.
