Rating ???

Can anyone tell me what the *check* mark rating before or after a posting means. Why are they sometimes there and sometimes not?????

If you are talking about the check mark in the blue box, that's to indicate when you go to the CC board that this is a post that you have responded to and will help you locate the threads which you are following.

The thing in the blue box before the post title isn't a check mark though it may look like one. It is a down arrow to indicate that it takes you to the first unread post if you click on it. It usually takes me to the first post since I've last visited the board even if I didn't read that thread the last time. Occasionally these boards seem to get a bit confused even about that and it will take me to a later or earlier post in the thread than it should have, but it still is a convenience particularly on long threads.

 

Shoshana has it right about the checkmark to the right.
