Also our roll call met the first sea day at 11:30 at the serenity area bar.

It's too rushed I think to put a meet n greet on sailaway day. You set sail around 4 pm and you really want to spend it on deck seeing the sites. Then if you have an early dinner seating you really don't have alot of extra time.

We had our roll call meet and greet at 11:30 but I missed it due to the bags tourney. I love playing bags. Our roll call group also had a 2 hour cocktail party scheduled for the 2nd sea day which I was part of so i figured I would meet most of them there. After our walk we decided to hit the waterslide and hang out by the pool. We actually layed out on the second deck. The serenity area was packed and near the pool was pretty full. We actually prefer to layout and read on the higher decks anyway. When i am ready to cool off i usually hit the water slide. There was no line and its fun. I would jump in the pool ocassionally but used the slide more

later on we got a bite to eat at the Burger and Hotdog BBQ area. Burgers are decent and they had hotdogs nachos and a small salad area set up. There are 2 identical Burger areas near the mid pool. Usually a couple people in line but really not much of a wait. Headed back to our cabin for a little rest before we got ready for dinner. We had anytime dining and tonite was our first time in the Main dining Room and anytime dining. Since the nite before we ate in the steakhouse.

1st Sea day was also elegant nite. So after relaxing we put on our formal attire and our group met out on our quad balconies and we popped a bottle of champagne before heading to dinner in the main dining room. When we arrived for anytime dining around 7pm and had a party of 10 and were seated right away. We had amazing service and the food came out in a timely manner and tasted great.

During dinner the captain announced on the intercom that we would be headed back North West toward the north carolina Coast as there was a seriously ill staff member that neede immediate emegency medical attention. The rumour was a staff member had fallen down some stairs and broken his/her neck. He said it would change our port times and he would keep us updated.

After Dinner we went to Karaoke in the Jeeves lounge and had a drink.

Singers were pretty bad. Aftre that we went to Frankie and Johnnies Lounge. There was a cover band in there I can't recall what they were called. They were 4 philipino guys and they did a 50's set 60's set 70's etc. and they were awesome they sound exactly like who they played. UnReal. They also have a small part in the Ticket to Ride show in the Main Showroom and They play the Beatles and they were awesome. So after Frankie and Johnnies we called it a nite.

Oh the band not to miss at Frankie and Johnnies is Music Unlimited. Very Good. We slept in a little on the second sea day. We decided to do the Comedy Brunch offered on sea days only. It was Great. My wife got the eggs benedict and I ordered eggs over easy. They come around with a great selection of pastries. If your a gold card holder you will also receive a coupon for a free cocktail redeemable only at the Brunch. We got Bloody Mary's and they were great. The comedian on board comes out and does about 5 minute of standup. IIt's not that great but I think it's because they are out of their element. Its different when everyone is eating rather than in an intimate setting like the Comedy Club. Anyway bruch was great and then we headed up to the top deck for our daily walk around the track. It was another gorgeous day.

I forgot to mention that the nite of the first seaday the Coast guard Helicopter came and picked up the seriously ill crew member. There is no heli pad on the Miracle they had to do a hover and the basket lift thing.

The captain made an announcement as the coast guard approached and asked that we do not go up to the top outdoor decks and do NOT take pictures because it could interfere with the helicopter pilots ability to see.

As we were walking on the track the captain came on the loud speaker to announce are itinerary times were changed do to the backtracking we had to do. We were to arrive at our first and second ports 2 hours later than originally scheduled. But we would also stay 2 hours later. So our time in port would be the same. This was fine with me because we are not early risers while on vacation so we loved the change. Our 3rd stop was unaffected.

Hung out on deck and caught some rays during the afternoon. Had another burger from the grill. Went to the serenity area for a while and soaked in the hottub. Then headed to our cabin to relax and get ready for anytime dining in the MDR. Before dinner we stopped at the taste bar and enjoyed the days hors devours. We also went by the sushi area which is now on the Lido deck in the buffet area and picked up some sushi before dinner. Then we headed into the MDR around 7:15. Had a table for 10 and there was no wait. I think I'm liking this anytime dining thing. We had the same waitstaff for the 2nd nite. They were great and dinner was fabulous.

After dinner a few of us went to the Jeeves lounge to see tonite comedian. He was OK. I'm sorry I don't recall his name. it was don something but he wasn't that funny. I love the Jeeves lounge it is very cozy. I also like that the make everyone leave after every comedy show so that people can't hog all the seats for the next show. When we were on the Glory people would just stay seated til the next show and you could hardly get a seat. By rotating the crowd everyone had a chance to find a decent seat and people wouldnt stay and watch the same comedian all nite. Anyway loved the Jeeves lounge be sure to check it out.

Today we cruised into Grand Turk. We docked at 11am. Was suppose to be there at 9 but as I mentioned earlier we came in late. We got to stay til 5 instead of 3. We love Grand Turk. One of our favorite stops. We are beach people and Grand Turk has a great one. What we love about Grand Turk is you walk off the dock and this gorgeous beach is right there. Literally walk off the dock right onto the beach. We walk down the beach a little to get past the crowd that sticks closer too the dock area. The beach close to the dock has great palm trees if you want shade and there are plenty of free loungers. We walk down in front of the Local Bar. They have free lounger there and umbrellas. The beer is cheaper and hardly anyone in the water.

We brought our own snorkel gear and we snorkeled around. There are some coral areas not too far from shore that had some colorful fish. We spent alot of time in the warm turquoise water. We had some lunch at the local bar. They have great conch fritters. We were in Grand Turk 6 months ago on another cruise and there were a couple new places. They built a small casino that looks like an old wooden ship. Its right near the local bar right on the beach. They have a large deck area on top where you can have drinks or eat. Also there was a new beach bar that looked really nice. Near the casino. We didn't stop in there but next time we go we will it looked nice. Grand Turk also has a Margaritaville with a huge pool and a surf machine. But they are way overpriced. Food and drinks there are outrageous. We much prefer the beach.

Did you have any problems getting on or off at Grand Turk? When we went in July, it was horrible!! Only one gangway and one set of stairs they let you use to get on and off! It took us forever to get off and got back on early so we wouldn't have to face the crowd before pulling away!

So we go back to the cabin and relax a bit and head to anytime dining again. Tonite tho our party of 10 all decided to do different things for dinner. 2 went to the buffet and 4 went to ATD at a different time then 4 of us. We ate around 7:30 tonite. That is the nice thing about anytime dining if your in a large party everyone may have different plans and can eat whenever they want to.

We planned to meet the rest of our party in the showroom balcony later to catch the ventriloquist show . We had a little time after dinner and went to the casino a played a little video poker. I hit a four of a kind on a double bonus game and made 100 bucks. So we played a little longer and then headed up to the main show room. The ventiloquist was pretty good. The first dummy he had was a Airport Security Puppet and wasn't very funny but his second one was very good. I guess he was just kind of a smart allecky middle aged puppet man. Not sure how to describe him. But it was funny. Then to end the show he brought 3 people on stage and had them act like his puppets. 1 was a 10 year old boy and he did really well and was very funny.

Can you please tell me the name of the current captain on the Miracle? We are looking for Captain Volpe and were wondering if he was on the Miracle now.

I love Capt. Volpe! Sadly, he was not on the Miracle when we sailed in May, 2011. I ***think*** he is on the Spirit, tho may be wrong. We sailed with him twice. The 2nd time he remembered us and treated us like old friends. :):D:)
