Hidden Minnie Posted January 26, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 26, 2018 I have sailed Alaska the first week of June, and I can echo the advice above about layers. Definitely bring a fleece jacket, a waterproof layer to put over it, warm socks, hat/ear muffs. I am from the snowy Midwest so am used to cold, but when you are someplace like Tracy Arm near the glaciers, it can get cold. Average highs our week were around 58, with nighttime temps in the 40s. When the ship is moving, the resulting wind makes it even colder. Also remember that parts of Alaska are rainforest, so rain gear is helpful.
