bridget02 Posted October 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2012 Does anyone know the best port in New Zealand where you could arrange to visit a Maori Village? Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Tauranga? :p
Aus Traveller Posted October 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2012 My suggestion would be to go to Rotorua from Tauranga. :)

tickford Posted October 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Rotorua/Tauranga. Google "rotorua moari experience", that will bring up a number of options.
Te Aroha Posted October 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2012 I am a Tauranga local and would also advise Rotorua for you. The last time we came into Tauranga on a Princess ship (it was a few years ago) there was a group that performed onboard as the ship was leaving port. They were shipped off with the pilot boat when the performance was over. They were not the best I have ever seen but it was an experience for the other passengers. Hopefully Princess is still doing this, it was announced in the Patter for the day we arrived. Enjoy your visit to New Zealand :)

As you mention, it will be announced in the Princess Patter, but often passengers miss it because it is a port day and they plan to just go back to the ship, eat and collapse into bed.
