New Zealand, Maori Experience?

Does anyone know the best port in New Zealand where you could arrange to visit a Maori Village?

Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Tauranga?

I am a Tauranga local and would also advise Rotorua for you.

 

The last time we came into Tauranga on a Princess ship (it was a few years ago) there was a group that performed onboard as the ship was leaving port. They were shipped off with the pilot boat when the performance was over. They were not the best I have ever seen but it was an experience for the other passengers. Hopefully Princess is still doing this, it was announced in the Patter for the day we arrived.

That has been available on our NZ cruises. As you mention, it will be announced in the Princess Patter, but often passengers miss it because it is a port day and they plan to just go back to the ship, eat and collapse into bed.
