sharod Posted October 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Headed up in April for a motorcycle cruise. Hubby will need to ride it to the port for embarkation. We need to do a park/stay/cruise. Which hotel is it more convenient/easier route to get to the port??? One hotel more safe to leave a vehicle and enclosed trailer??? We don't mind if one is a little further from the port, as long as it is an easier commute on the motorcycle. Just looking at Google maps, Hampton may be an easier route??? No confusing exits(to people not familiar with the area), toll. Thanks for any advise!!!
njhorseman Posted October 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Hampton Inn and Suites is a bit closer to the port, and the route may be a bit easier since you don't have to take the NJ Turnpike (although you do have to go over the Bayonne Bridge). You will have to pay a motorcycle toll of $11 when you return to the Hampton Inn via the Bayonne Bridge. You also will be paying a toll for your truck and trailer to get onto Staten Island of at least $22 (the exact toll depends on the number of axles). You would pay a toll of $3 in each direction on the NJ turnpike going between the port and the Country Inn and Suites. I think your vehicle and trailer would be safe in either place. The Hampton Inn is in a quieter, less industrial area.
