How low is deck 4?

I had a deck 2 (lowest passenger deck) on a Carnival ship last fall. During heavy seas when they taped full barf bag holders in the elevator lobbies, there were times the waves covered the entire opening. It was kind of fun sitting on the window ledge. A few times the water was at enough of an angle that it came into the "tube" and splashed on the window.

I'd do the same thing again!

I've risked it, and booked a deck 4 cabin on the star! :)

Since you are booked on deck 4, I will give you a little history about the Star you can have fun with. The ship was built for Star cruises which is a Chinese company and they didn't want a deck 4 or 14 because 4 is an unlucky number to the Chinese. The Maritime authorities would not allow them to skip it for safety reasons.

They didn't object to the cabin numbering system, so you will not find any cabins on the Star ending in 4 or in the 40's. They skip from 2 to 6 on the last digit and from 38 to 50 on the last two digits of the cabin numbers.

Tell somebody there is a big party in cabin ##46 and watch them try to find it.
