Accomodations Valparaiso Chile

Would appreciate any recommendations for hotels or B&B's in Valparaiso or Vina Del Mar to see the area after debarking the ship prior to going to Santiago. Any info on transportation from the port to the hotels would also help.

Thanks :)

We stayed at the Hotel Acontraluz in March this year which is currently showing as No. 1 on TripAdvisor. It is a great boutique hotel in the old part of the city overlooking the harbor. The service was wonderful and the hotel is charming. It is a converted mansion that has been beautifully restored but there is no elevator. The hotel is within walking distance of some wonderful restaurants. It is on a hill so you have to be in shape to walk around. As long as you have no mobility issues you will enjoy it.

If it was my trip, I would rearrange your trip slightly. Disembark in Valpo and spend the night in Vina Del Mar, there a ton of hotels by the beach, but some are less modern than others. I would recommend staying at the Sheraton or the Casino, which are brand new and should have all the wheel chair access you need. Also, Vina del Mar is a very flat and accessible city, I think it will be very accommodating.
