3 hour morning tour booked - then what?

We have a horseback riding excursion booked through Carnival but I reserved the earliest time slot so we would have the rest of the day to enjoy Montego Bay. The tour is from 7:30 to 10:30 so we are looking for something to do after that. We are in port until 3 pm and are the only ship in port that day. Do you think it will be too late in the day to enjoy some beach time at Doctor's Cave Beach? I worry about it being so busy by the time we get there. Has anyone done anything else they would recommend? Thanks to all who respond.
