Bilbao with a local host

On October 7 we explored Bilbao with Marivi, an excellent guide from Bilbao Greeters. She made this day enjoyable and memorable. Her English was excellent. She helped us to comfortably navigate local transport, make pictures from the best view points, find the best places where locals get together for Sunday drinks, and more. Most important, we learned to appreciate the city and its people. The history of Bilbao transition from an industrial and warehouse center to a beautiful green city was fascinating. It was much different to hear the stories from a local witness then from tourist books. If you wish to discover something in this city, which is beyond the pages of tourist brochures, Bilbao Greeters are the best.

We used Bilbao Greeters in May and had a wonderful experience. Our guide spoke very good English and we enjoyed spending time with him. It was just my husband, me and our guide Jokin for several hours. What a joy not to be in a group of 40 trying to hear a guide talk about the city. The food we tried with Jokin's guidance was fabulous. I would not hesitate to recommend Bilbao Greeters.
