Cost of Cruise Insurance

Can anyone explain why the cost of travel insurance for cruising is so pricey? We are looking for insurance to cover our cruise around New Zealand. We can get reasonable normal travel insurance but once we click into insurance for a cruise the price rockets. Anyone any suggestions?

I would say because it's a pretty high price tag.

 

Obviously other factors include length of the trip and ages of those being insured.
