Pre-ordering alcohol?

Just wondering if this is still possible? I read an old thread about it and there were mixed answers. For our cruise last year our friend's mother was able to call and pre-order two bottles of Absolute and have them waiting in the room as a birthday surprise.

 

Does anyone have any info on this? Prices and varieties?
