griffy116 Posted October 24, 2012 #26 Share Posted October 24, 2012 We used Rome in Limo. It came right up to the tent where the ship docks. They are absolutely fabulous. There were 5 of us and we had me and one other that had some mobility problems. They were extremely reasonable and we they were very flexible about what we wanted to visit. It's the perfect solution! Don't miss Rome!!! We were there in June and I wish I was heading back!!!

navybankerteacher Posted October 25, 2012 #28 Share Posted October 25, 2012 While Florence is an amazing city. it is hard to do it justice in the few hours available on a tour from Livorno (which has very little of interest). An alternative to consider is Lucca -- a real gem of a walled city which you can cover well in a few hours - also allowing for a stop in Pisa to see the tower (not much of anything else in Pisa). If there is no ship tour, local rail, changing trains for the brief stop to see the tower in Pisa, work very well.
