margord Posted May 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2005 RCCL gives you an onboard credit if you own at least 100 shares of their stock. I thought I read somewhere the Carnival stock also buys you onboard credit on Carnival, HAL, Princess and the other cruise lines they own. Is this true and does anyone have a URL to a web site where I can check this out? Any help is most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is a dup, but I seem to be having problems with morning. COuld be the board, could be me.
arlenemilt Posted May 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2005 I don't have a website for you, but it is true. I've been a Carnival shareholder for many years and have consistently received shipboard credit on Carnival and Holland America. When Princess entered the fold last year, they too became eligible. However, if you book on board and get Princess credits, they are no longer combinable with shareholder credits. Arlene

Dreamer333 Posted May 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2005 "This benefit is not transferable, not combinable with any other shipboard offer and cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuties charged to your onbard account." Just wondering... How would they prevent someone from using this towards their gratuities or in the casino?
arlenemilt Posted May 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2005 Not so. The credit is posted to your account and is deducted from your charges. So yes, it can be used for the gratuities that are automatically charged to your account. As for casino, this is not cash; it's a credit to your account. And if you charge money to your account from the casino, you're paying a service charge on top of it. And, if that charge appears on your account, it's treated the same as any other charge. pmc7704 Posted May 24, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2005 Does anyone have the address to mail the info to Princess? I have the address for Carnival, and have used it in the past, but I think for Princess it has to be sent to a different address.

cherylandtk Posted May 25, 2005 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Just wondering... How would they prevent someone from using this towards their gratuities or in the casino? The only time this rule would come into play is if you charged absolutely nothing to your onboard account except gratuities and casino charges. Since most people charge a lot more than $100 per cabin in drinks and shop purchases, the credit is applied to that part of your bill.
