Scenic Barbados Tours.....no confirmation or reply.

On 10/14 I booked an Island/Beach tour online with Scenic Barbados Tours. I didn't receive any form of receipt or confirmation. I called and left a message on 10/19 regarding the confirmation. I have yet to receive an email confirmation or return call regarding the booking. Has anyone recently booked online with them and if so, how long did it take for confirmation? Thanks for any info you can share.

Funny how sometimes you ask a question and then the problem gets resolved.......I received confirmation from Scenic Barbados early this AM. Perhaps I just need to slow down to 'island time'....LOL! :D

 

Hi, I have also booked a tour with them yesterday, will note not to expect a reply for a week or so. I noticed your cruise is way before ours. Will you come back to this thread and let us know how the tour went, if you enjoyed it etc. Thanks!

I'll be happy to come back and let you know about our experience. We are very excited to be visiting Barbados for the first time!!

Scooterscruisers ~ I'm sorry to say that I will not be posting a review of our tour with Scenic Barbados Tour Company. I received an email from them that I find offensive. I am posting the email exchange from them for viewing on Cruise Critic. Please take special note to see they referenced my posting on Crusie Critic.

Edwin ~ My posting to Cruise Critic simply asked if anyone had booked with you and how long it takes to receive a reply. It was not in any way a complaint. The next day after receiving my confirmation I went back to the posting and posted a second time to let everyone know I did receive the confirmation. I did realise that the email was left off the reservation request, that's why I called and left a message. I have read nothing but positive reviews about your tour and expect to have the same experience as others have written about.

 

I do not believe my postings will harm your business and I have included copies of my postings on Cruise Critic. Please see attached messages:

Dear Ms. Brodie ,

I have just been sent an email by our booking partners in Miami about my response to online booking made by you .

I checked all the bookings and I found out that the on line confirmation booking had no email address to respond to and it treated the mail as junk.

Although you sent and called to explain it took longer than usual because of security reasons .Online bookings must be treated with utmost security ,and it is the customer and service provider must be very vigilant and in this world you have to check and double check.

The problem came from your end ,but our company stand to lose bookings because of your message on cruise critic .

It is our main interest to protect our customers ,and we offer a service that very few tour operators in Barbados provide for the price we offer .Check it out .

Any how your email has done considerable damage to our reputation ,but it was a mistake on your part ,and not ours .But we will have to live this one down .

Any how this is a very unfortunate incident ,but it will bring us back to reality ,and keep our main interest in giving visitors to our island the best that we can offer .

Sorry about the hassle you are going through... The last time we were on Victory (Feb 2010) we also had a tour scheduled with this company. When we got off the ship we were looking around at the designated location for him and I had 2 different guys tell me that he (the tour opereator) had just left with a big group. So we ended up just getting a ramdom driver there to do the same tour with us. Workied out fine. We did however get a nasty email from him when we got home that we were no shows.... I told him what happened and that he was the one who bailed but still pretty nasty. I hear if you can hook up with him he is good but..... sometimes hard. Good luck. Barbados is a great island. We did a turtle snorkle from a boat on the beach and then over to Bathsheba. (see my review)

Dirkgun - Thanks for your post. I had previously read your review and enjoyed all the details. Especially loved your pictures. We were lucky enough to spend a port day in San Juan and your pics reminded me of the great time we had there. We are flying in two days pre-cruise to spend some time there again.

 

I was very disappointed with the 'customer service' response from the tour company, but it is what it is. We will not let that dampen our time on the island of Barbados one bit.
