Priority Main Dining w/FTTF

Can anyone give me more info on the Priority Main Dining with FTTF? We usually do main seating but are considering ATD since we're in Coz so late. We'd really consider it if there was a faster wait time with FTTF!

Please no controversy, I don't really care how much anyone paid for platinum cause I don't cruise for perks, I cruise to get away from everyday life :D

You wait like everyone else for your turn.

Based on what was on John's blog yesterday, you should not be moved ahead in line. Priority dining just means that if you request say late seating and you are wait-listed, your chance of getting late seating increases as you are on a priority list.

There are other threads about moving ahead in the ATD line with FTTF, but that is NOT what is supposed to happen. John said he was going to be sure all ships were notified, so that all ships did the same thing which was FTTF people wait in line just like Platinum, Diamond and everyone else.

I wish there were a way for VIP's (including FTTF) to be moved to the front of the line, but it doesn't look like that's what's going to happen.

I'm not "flaming" the original poster but I do want to say that I think it is wise that "perks" for loyal cruisers aren't things that are insulting to other cruisers who paid the same price for THIS particular cruise. I think it is great that loyal customers get free-bee drinks or coupons for paid restaurants or a spa treatment or chocolate covered strawberries or a bottle of wine for dinner. But I do find it insulting when peeps get preferential treatment from waiting in line whether its a tender (unless they booked a Carnival excursion), the buffet, the YTD, a seat at the theater, etc.

Nothing is worse, for me, than waiting in a line and having some one flash their VIP card and walking right past it...so good on Carnival for not falling into that trap.

So if I read you correctly, you want to call the shots on which 'perk' should be awarded within the different levels of the Carnival recognition plan regardless of whether you participated in achieving said level?

Getting to the front of the line at Your Time Dining is not a published benefit of FTTF....

however, "some" FTTF guests have reported this happening on a ship.

It is just one of Carnival's many inconsistancies.....

So while I would not purchase the FTTF expecting that perk, I would not be surprised to find the ship offering it.

<emphasis mine> A perk is a perk. if you're insulted by the others, why not be insulted by the excursion perk? (unless of course that's the one attainable perk for you.) :D;)

live in north ohio  big amusement park here known for there roller coasters both the size and number of them. season pass holders have for the last few years get early addmission into park (an hour ahead of time i think) i recently heard that starting next year people can buy a extra stamp to go on a short line for the coasters. just seemed simular to me

This question has come up before & it really confuses me. I've done the Your Time Dining on my last 4 cruises & have never encountered a line. On elegant night there may have been 1 or 2 couples at the door when we arrived, but they were whisked right in. Unless one is trying to get a table as soon as the doors open why would there be a line?

First of all..how does someone know if I'm VIP. I don't flaunt things like that. And "anyone" can buy a carnival excursion on any cruise so letting all participants get on an early tender is not a matter of "perks" it is about purchasing an early tender...big difference. I also don't complain about VIPs getting priority embarkation or debarkation on the first and last day. It isn't like they walk in at 2:00 and jump the line. They are invited to come early and leave early if they so wish. I can just see a boatload (good reference that) of paying customers forever being at the end of a line because the VIPs keep getting moved to the head of the line...at some point that becomes pretty darn ludicrous.

Sorry' date=' but getting an "early tender" is a [b']perk[/b] for buying through the cruiseline vs. private operators that has been highly touted by CD's and ACD's on every one of my cruises. Whether you want to call it something else or not doesn't change it's nature. As a Plat I am "invited" to be escorted to the head of the tender line whenever I "wish" to debark. If you're a Plat you can do the same.

Sorry...the cruiseline does not have anything to do with shore excursions other than the ones they pre-sale on board. And buying one of them means you leave early. It is not a perk since anyone can buy the excursion. Now if I had bought the early excursion through Carnival and I was bumped for a "Platinum" and missed the excursion I would then be pissed. Besides...with all the cruise lines who really wants to spend 200 of them on the same line?

I do believe what is being said here is that purchasing a "perk" like not having to wait in line creates situations where the person that does not purchase the "perk" has to wait longer now, and that is annoying.

But priority dining, only means you are up on the list to get your pick of which dining option you want. It has nothing to do with wait times.

I used to be guaranteed my dining time of choice with being platinum.. now Im priority .. I dont wait any less time once Im onboard.. it means I probably should get early dining time if thats what I want. i.e. it has to do with getting your dining time of choice.. early, late or anytime.. not with waiting in line to get into the dining room.
