aqusis Posted May 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2004 What do you mean by 'biggest' do you mean longest in duration, most people, biggest ship????? Cunard offers a world cruise, on one of their ships (the QE 2 maybe?). It's about 120 days and goes around the world. You can book all of it or individual segments. They also, currently, have the largest ship afloat with the new Queen Mary 2. If it's duration your looking for, there's also ResidenSea's The World. You can purchase a stateroom (like you'd buy a condo) and sail continuously. snshn3 Posted May 11, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 11, 2004 I guess gross register tonnage Roll Call on Brilliance of the Seas 06/17/05 Enchantment of the Seas, RCCL, 11/01 - Eastern Caribbean Tropicale, Carnival 08/99 - Western Caribbean
Orcrone Posted May 11, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2004 That would be the new Queen Mary 2 at about 150,000 tons. RCCL has some that are 142,000 tons (hardly small) with rock climbing walls, indoor ice skating rink and a miniature golf course. 1/1990 - RCCL Song of America 4/13/2003 - Carnival Inspiration 10/30/2004 - Maasdam Till sailing on the Maasdam
fodorspeter Posted May 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2004 And we should point out that the tonage isn't a weight number, its a displacement or volume number. Peter
