CM2J2R2S Posted November 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2012 Hi Everyone, We are cruising next spring and are looking at re-booking for February 2014. I thought we would wait until the spring cruise and collect the pay 100 for 200 toward your next cruise kind of deal, but USA Today reports that Carnival is no longer doing this. Can anyone confirm that? Also, do you figure we are better booking now - way ahead... to get the better rate? Thanks, Mélissa
firefly333 Posted November 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2012 Around 3 years ago, they had a welcome back credit for $50.. replaced by the FCC. Now you cannot buy a FCC to bring home but you can get the same OBC by booking onboard still. It was only $100 OBC if you booked a 7 day cruise.. shorter cruises are less. book onboard? it was never pay $100 get double money, $200 .. it always depended on the length of the cruise you booked. You get Up to $200 ... On my Hawaii cruise Ill get $200. nitro2448 Posted November 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2012 If your talking about the future cruise certificates no they don't do them anymore. But you can book your next cruise while on the ship, and get the OBC. Plus get a voucher for your friends or family to get OBC
Rare Banditswife Posted November 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2012 I think the deal you are talking about is the FCV or future cruise voucher. You paid $100, then recieved a voucher to book a future cruise. $100 went toward final payment + you got $ OBC, amt depended on the cruise length. They did away with the vouchers. New deal: book a cruise while on board, pay the full deposit, recieve free OBC - amt depends on length of cruise. You can also get friends & family vouchers when you do this. So what we plan to do is book our next cruise while onboard our upcoming cruise. Hope this helps.
bigred08046 Posted November 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2012 Just off Carnival cruise 11/2/12. Asked to purchase next cruise voucher for $100 and they would match $100. on board credit. This program has been discontinued! What are they thinking??? This was a win/win! As a stockholder I'm outraged and will voice my concern at the next board meeting! This was a short Haloween cruise and looked to book a cruise while onboard...non to be had! What a disappointment.
