Nite Life

What do you mean by "nightlife"? Are you talking about the shows, gambling, the disco?

It would also help to know when you're sailing, where to, on what ship, etc.

It also might be better to post this question on the appropriate cruise lines' board, if you haven't already.

Nice reaction, chicklet.

Trevoli was looking for some more specific info so he (she?) could help you. Your question was extremely vague, give us some details, we'll do our best to help you.

Each cruiseline and/or itinerary and/or time of year has a different type or amount of night life. What cruise line and when and where are you sailing?

Chicklet --

I'm still a bit unclear by what you mean by nightlife. But . . .

The bars are open all most all the time; you can get a drink w/ breakfast if you want one.

Bingo starts in the late afternoon; there's usually a band or at least music on deck by the pool. Starting around 4-5 there's "Happy Hour" but except for RCL which designated a particular indoor bar w/ drink specials, I personally haven't seen anything setting Happy Hour aside.

Your daily itinerary will tell you what time the shows begin. There are usually 2 each night so you can go to dinner before or after the show. It will also tell you what time the casino opens (usually about 1 hour after sail away), what time the disco opens, & what time the singers / lounge acts/ piano players start. They are rarely before 8 pm.

I've always cruised as part of a couple, so I don't know if there are lots of singles aboard or what there is to do to meet others. I didn't notice any organized activites for singles on NCL (but I wasn't paying attention). The events were listed in the Daily Compass on RCL & they adverstised events in the afternoon by the pool.

chicklet: I did the Panama Canal on the Sun last April. Most of the passengers were older couples or women travelling together and nightlife was minimal. I was travelling solo and did make the rounds of the bars and lounges but there was very little going on.

Chicklet & Donnaluv2cruise, I have sad news for you on the nightlife for single girls. I just got off the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas last week with two other single girls. On a longer than 7-day cruise you will find very few singles, let alone single men. They say that longer than 7 days most people can't get off work and therefore you find couples and retirees. Now, we did have a lot of fun but there was no "meat market" atmosphere whatsoever. The disco (Jesters) was a lot of fun, plenty of people (ie couples) out dancing after 11ish until 2ish but forget about hook ups.

The two girls I cruised with have been on Carnival before and only for 7 or less days and said there were plenty of singles on those type cruises.

Your night life will usually start right after your dining time. Do you have early or late seating?

After dinner you can go to the show or to the casino/ various bars/lounges have some kind of music going. I think most bars/lounges are opened til 3am.

Early seating is good since your meals will have time to digest so you can eat at the midnight buffets. Also will be able to sleep with all that food laying there. You will have fun. Some nights too tired to care about a nite life. (especialyl port days)
