snugglepup Posted May 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Leaving this weekend on Dawn wondering what the attire for children is at night. Can they wear shorts into the restaurants or the boys need to be in pants? Any ideas?
pengu1n Posted May 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Probably depends on their size. The closer they approach to adult size the more likely they should be in pants. So a 6 year old would probably be okay but a 10-12 year old would not.
Cosmopolitan Posted May 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2005 I believe NCL states no shorts in D/R at night. I would bring a long pair of pants for them, even if they only wear them to dinner. They can change after dinner. Restaurants are cool at night anyway.
kr64 Posted May 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2005 My son was 10 when we sailed the Dawn last summer. The first night, we were told at the restaurant that he could wear shorts (I think it was Impressions). The rest of the time - he wore the same outfit for dinner every night! Dockers and a button-down Hawaiian shirt. He put it on right before dinner and took it off right after. He was happy - and nobody noticed. We brought dress shoes, but he just wore his black skateboard shoes every night. Never a problem.
thunder_lin Posted May 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2005 We sailed the SEA in March and had boys aged 11 - 14 with us. They wore either cotton pants (Khaki) or light weight cords with either a golf shirt or a button down shirt. None wore dress shoes, either they wore their runners, sandals or skateboarding shoes. After dinner they would change back into their shorts and hit the basketball court.
