Extension cord or a mult plug to have more plugs, to plug your curling iron or shaver.

Don't forget the kitchen sink, iron, candles and a crock pot.
You may feel you need to add these to your list after reading some of the packning list. If you leave these things home, everyone will be happy.

Hi n1232, Bring hangers! They had attached hangers which I find annoying beside I like to hang my clothes up right out of suitcase. I find that more convenient. Bring your appetite! It is my favorite cruise line and the food is wonderful. You can have more than one of any entree and make sure you have the creme brulee and pineapple napoleon, scrumptious! My hubby preferred the pies, etc.The "Century" spoiled me for it was our first cruise also. Went on HAL Zuiderdam (food was very good but not as good as Century. The RCCL Rhapsody was really nothing to look forward to. Going on Grand Princess in Dec. Hopethe food is as good as the Century. Bon Voyage, Marie

Elastic waist slacks, skirts, shorts! After you fill up on all the food you'll need them. Also, a good pair of walking shoes-that way you can try and keep the weight gain down to a minimum-walk everywhere and use the stairs. I also agree with a previous post-only pack half of what you think. My first cruise I made that mistake and had enough clothes for a month long cruise(wish it was). Now my hubby and I take one medium roll on and a small garment bag.

Just make sure you pack a carry-on and throw in a pair of shorts a tshirt and a bathing suit. This way you can change out of your travelling clothes and start your vacation pronto by having a drink lounging by the pool, no need to wait for your luggage to be delivered to your cabin. Sun block is another must. . .but actually, you can purchase just about anything on the ship but it will probably cost you double

One of my favorite things to take on vacation is pre-addressed labels. My family and friends all expect postcards. So I print the addresses in advance on mailing labels paper. Then I can spend my time writing a wonderful message and not have to haul my address book with me.

Make sure you take a small travel iron that has steam capability, a bag that you can wear around your waist or over your shoulder to keep your boarding passes in ( you are going to need these everytime you get off and back on the ship ), waterproof flip flops, a notepad, and a highlighter to mark your daily shipboard activities Make sure that you label your cameras, purse, binoculars, camcorder, camera case, etc. with your name, address, phone number, cabin number. I accidently left my camera in the theater after a show. It took me forever to get it back. Someone had turned it into the Purser's Office, but I had to fill out a claim form and be able to identify it explicitly.
I also recommend you put all your documents in a waterproof zippered bag.
Make sure you take all your medications and personal hygiene items in a special bag. Take everything you even think you might need. Trying to get these items in the ports is difficult and very, very costly. We try to be prepared for anything.

Everyone always overpacks. We have learned to take less and less with each cruise. Go on the cruise to relax and have fun. Who cares if you wear something more than once !

Everyone always takes too much the first time. You will do yourself a favor if you cut down on the casual clothing and take at least one more bathing suit than you originally planned. You will live in your bathing suit several days.

Don't be fooled into taking every thing you read about, you really don't need all the excess stuff. If there are any items you think you "may" need, leave them at home. Let me give you a list of things I have taken, and never even unpacked:

post it notes
address labels
highlighter pen
extension cord
water wallet
extra carry bag (backpack or fanny pack, pack one as a carry on, empty it out in the cabin and use that)
flashlight
Woolite
any toiletries I don't normally use at home
I've never found any use for duct tape, power outlets, laptop computers, irons (take a steamer)
extra hangers (you can get more from the attendant)

cut hair, clip fingernails and toenails, wax any area you think needs it before you go, leave all the stuff at home

Things you should pack:

a small emergency kit with pain killer of your choice, a few bandaids and an antibacterial ointment, stomach meds of your choice, cold tablets, sea sickness med of your choice. I pack just a few of each of these items.

a large bottle of sunscreen, one number higher than you normally need (sunburn will ruin your vacation)

a small battery powered alarm clock (debatable)
any medications you must take
your most comfortable shoes
your favorite shorts
your favorite shirt
3 bathing suits apiece

The rest is up to personal preference. You will probably be able to wear shorts and pants twice, maybe even a shirt or two.

I cut down on packing each and every cruise I go on, the last vacation where we flew, we checked every bag except our camera bag and my purse. It's great to travel light. The most important thing you can take along is your patience, your sense of adventure, your sense of humor and your appetite. The very best to leave at home is your worries, your job and your opinion of other people.

Have a very fun cruise, no worries!

Conspicuous by its absense is the old over the door shoe holder. We actually use it for shoes but many (who don't travel with three females) use it to store all the things for the bathroom that don't fit in the 7" x 3" vanity!

We actually use the over the door shoe hanger sometimes. I did not mention it as it sounded like the OP was travelling with only 2 ppl. When you have 4 to a cabin (we sometimes do) it comes in handy to keep the cabin desk free of clutter. We do not use it in the bathroom, it is hung on the outside of the bathroom door. We use it for hairbrushes, sunglasses, room keys, loose papers, etc.... We also take along the accordion type shoe holder for the closet to hold shoes and handbags.

These cabins are so tiny, sure the bathroom has great storage capabilities and the rest of the cabin is well laid out. I just cannot live for a week amongst a bunch of clutter. If there is one pair of loose shoes on the floor, I will be sure to trip over them. I use the desk to put on makeup and dry my hair, I hate having to compete with a pileup for a little space. Neatness and organization does a lot to ensure compatability for a week or more in a small space. That and a cocktail.

Immodium AD.

Small, lightweight, easy to pack and like GOLD if you get an upset tummy from all the rich food.

I learned the hard way (had to miss a tour because I was afraid to be away from a restroom), and will never, ever travel without it again.

Always take sun glasses Even in cooler climates...you'll need them. If you wear prescription glasses always carry a copy of your prescription in case your glasses get lost or broken.

A positive attitude of anticipation always helps, too

Irons are off limits!! You can bring a steamer, as far as I know, but NO IRONS!! That is a definite fire hazard. Bring clothes that don't need to be ironed, or hang them in the steamy bathroom, or send them out to be pressed.

Everyone is different in their needs. Start with a list. Here's a link to Cuise Diva's lists Cruise Diva Packing Lists. It's not my list and it won't be your final list but, it's a starting point.

Scratch off the things you know you won't use. Question mark the maybes and pack the things you know you will use.

Relax I am not a pshycic but I predict:<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>You will take too much.<LI>You will take things you never need.<LI>You will forget something.<LI>You will revise the list when you get home and you will do better the next cruise. (And the cruise after that etc., etc.)
