Erwende Posted November 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2012 My family and I are sailing on the Allure on 12/9. My sister and her boyfriend just broke (good thing)! They both purchased cruise insurance. They must have had a hunch. Lol. Anyways. Can my sister still go as a single passenger or does she have to pay for his ticket too? Does her cruise insurance help with a cancelled roommate? Thanks in advance.

The sister can still go as a single passenger, and may not have to pay more at all, since 75% of the boyfriend's fare is already paid. It all depends on the value of the single supplement, which varies cruise to cruise.

kathyemma Posted November 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Depends on policy - if it is cancel for any reason then she is fine. It will pay his fare, plus the single upcharges for her. If not cancel for any reason, then he might be out of luck. Kathy

tiggypooo Posted November 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2012 I don't think insurance covers "We broke up before the cruise"....... Royal might change the name for a fee and in my opinion, it would be better to just reimburse the ex-BF his 25% directly, if the name change is allowed.
