CruisingYiayia Posted November 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Does anyone know if this cabin has an obstructed view of the water because of the lifeboats below?
Cougsie Posted November 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2012 If you're looking for a 180 (up & down) x 180 (fore & aft) degree view when standing at the railing, stateroom 9205 is probably not for you. The big lifeboats will be three and a half decks below you, so they will block only a very small portion of your view of the water, maybe 5 or 10 degrees. If you wanted to watch the ship dock, for instance, from your balcony, you probably wouldn't get a great view, but otherwise, it's a great view of the ocean, from a nice high perspective. I would say that the beginning of the hump, immediately aft of stateroom 9205, might be more of an obstruction to your view, blocking perhaps 20 to 25 degrees of view in that direction. But sitting down on your balcony while having a cocktail or eating breakfast, you won't know the difference.
robtulipe Posted November 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2012 First shot is view from a deck 7 forward balcony of Silhouette's lifeboats and tenders in front of port hump. Arrow marks location of cabin 9205. Second shot is of same area on Eclipse taken from the top deck of Silhouette with 9205 marked on the railing of that cabin. CruisingYiayia Posted November 20, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Thank you. A hump cabin on the starboard side is available so we are going to have our TA change our cabin.
