Paul NH Posted May 28, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2005 That was *very* interesting, watching the Queen Mary 2 pull away from the pier and then do a slow cruise down the river. I kept note of the times for the departure today. It began to pull away at 5:40, and took about 40 minutes to clear the Manhattan skyline. Unforutnately, the quality of the south view was not good enough to see what was going on down by the Statue of Liberty; it sort of melted into a blurry gray image as well as blocked by the southern Manattan skyscrapers. It was exciting knowing that the next time this great ship will be pulling away from the Manhattan piers ... my family and I will be standing on the deck! DanZ Posted May 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2005 Yes, it was great fun to watch the QM2 leave knowing that the next time she is in New York, she is there for us! Now for another treat, go to the following link, turn your speakers up and press the QM2 horn button. It really got my youngest son going! http://www.cunardships.org/home.cfm Enjoy!
