jaded99 Posted November 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2012 So I know the official rule is a fee of $50 per person, per cruise to cancel an Early Saver cruise, but I was wondering if anyone had had any luck getting this waived or reduced if they were transferring the balance immediately to another cruise? DH's new job can't approve the B2B we booked a while ago, so we want to switch to another cruise but since it's a B2B we're going to lose $200 by switching, unless Carnival decides to give us a break. I know we took the risk in booking ES but I was just wondering if there was any kind of precedent for reducing the fee if you were rebooking immediately? Appreciate any info! EnTnSA Posted November 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2012 of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but they view this as a cancelation and rebooking, and if they go by the rules, that means you pay the fee. The only time I have not been charged was to upgrade our staterooms from an interior to balcony.
golfadj Posted November 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2012 The one time we switched cost us 50 pp. They seem to be firm about this rule.
klmorg Posted November 28, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2012 We have had to switch before with ES...cost $50 PP. Our deposits were all transferred to the newly booked cruise. ES is great, but there are restrictions that we all agree to at the time of booking.
jaded99 Posted November 28, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Oh well, that's kind of what I figured. Thanks for the info.
tuscandream Posted November 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I have switched cruises while booked under early savers without a fee. I had to ask for a supervisor and they did accommodate me. I just stated I am a loyal customer. What's the reason you want to switch?
emelvee Posted November 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2012 What's the reason you want to switch? I'm guessing this: DH's new job can't approve the B2B we booked a while ago, so we want to switch to another cruise but since it's a B2B we're going to lose $200 by switching, unless Carnival decides to give us a break. :D

Appreciate any info! didn't give me any breaks. I switched ships but kept the same week. Still charged me the administrtive fee of $50pp. Bill

CWcruisers Posted November 28, 2012 #11 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I'm a Diamond Cruiser, I paid the fee and well I should. Loyalty has nothing to do with it, I knew the rule when I booked.
