Cruise Arizona Posted November 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2012 We a looking at planning a family reunion cruise, possible on Carnival Magic for summer of 2014. My nephew will be 18 or 19 depending on the date that we choose (Mid June Birthday) and my son will be 17. I am pretty sure that 18/19 is too old for the teen club. My son will still be young enough, but most likely they will want to do things together. What kind of activities will be available to both of them to participate together. Things that come to mind are Pool Side activities, water slides, basket ball court. They both like to play video games, is there any video games that would be available to both? Can you think of anything else that might work for them to do together....well beside eating, cause I know that they are gonna love Guy's burgers and the other food options. If you have ever cruise with these ages or age combinations any suggestions are helpful. (We will also have 3 16 year old girls with us, but I'm not too worried about them because they are all teen club age.)

I don't think the Magic has Guy's burgers yet, it came out after the Magic launched, but there is the Red Frog Pub for an upcharge. Activity wise there is a ropes course and the racing slides. Down in the Red Frog there is table top shuffle board and in the arcade they have pool tables. In the lobby most days is a Corn Hole competition and several trivia games. If they want to get famous they can try Karaoke. I think they also have a giant Jinga game in the lobby. I don't know if the 17yo will be allowed in the disco in the evening or not. Have a fun trip, the Magic is my current favorite ship but that might change when I get on the Breeze in a few weeks.
Cruise Arizona Posted November 29, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted November 29, 2012  Well Darn, I guess I thought it did have the Guy's burger joint, but it looks like Breeze has it and Sunshine will soon, But I looked it up, not included on Magic yet. I remember looking a Zydecocruiser's blog pictures on the ship and it did seem that they had many good things to eat even with out Guy's.
SadieN Posted November 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2012 The 19yo can do everything an adult can do but drink alcohol and be on the serenity deck. The 17yo cannot be in the casino or nightly disco.

The 17yo cannot be in the casino or nightly disco. I am not familiar with with other evening entertainment options on Carnival. I don't think the boys will be disappointed about being excluded from the disco, but not being completely familiar, I don't have a complete understanding of what they can do. What other evening venues would be good for them? Thanks
SadieN Posted November 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2012 The production shows, karoake, Piano Bar and comedy shows. There are family friendly and Adult comedy shows. The Adult show is restricted to those over 18 but I have never seen anyone being carded going in. The only ones I have seen kicked out (after seating) were the ones that looked way too young or were truly obnoxious. Most of the adult comedy I have heard on Carnvival is basically R rated with a few f, c & d four-letter words thrown in. There is an arcade but most games cost 4 tokens. Now that the search function is working again search for FunTimes. Might not be for your ship or itin but the events are all basically the same.
