Airline miles with cruise air

If I am reading your question correctly, you are asking if you can use your air miles from Capital One in conjunction with cruiseline provided air. The answer is NO. You must pay for your air from the cruise line.

However, you can use your Capital One (or any) miles to book your own air. Book it independently, fly a day early, and buy travel insurance to cover cruise, hotel, air, etc. You will not be compensated for cost of air you booked with miles, only redeposit or change fee.

If you are worried about transfer to the ship, you can usually buy the transfers independently from the cruise line. Arrange to take the hotel bus back to the airport and meet up with the cruise line transfer.

Def. fly in the day before, you never know what happens with the air delays and what. For most depature ports it is easier (and cheaper) to use a cab then use the transfer services of the cruiselines. In orlando, you can rent a car from one of the car comanies and drop it off near the port for around 30 dollars....otherwise a cab frrom FLL to the port is less than 10 dollars
