Fantasy Review from Nov 28 cruise just posted

If you are interested in a review of the Carnival Fantasy from a seasoned traveler, my review from our Nov 28th cruise was just published under the member reviews.

My review is probably skewed positive because of the incredible ease of this trip for us. If you read even a few reviews, it becomes apparent how a lousy or frustrating embarkation process can start a cruise off on a bad note (and an easy one a good note) and I have to say this was the easiest trip we've ever taken. It was as easy as catching a plane for day business trip to Atlanta; actually it was a lot easier as we didn't have to wait around an airport for our plane to depart, we just boarded and started unpacking and exploring. We left our house in Mount Pleasant around 12:50pm on the day of departure and were in our cabin on the Empress deck at 1:44pm (I know because I texted my son at that time in amazement). The service was uniformly excellent (particularly bartenders, casino and port staff), with some weak spots in the MDR the last two nights. The service, price and ease of access made up for any tacky or dated decor (no lack of cleanliness), lukewarm entrees and/or lack of innovative design features that we probably would not use anyway. The cabin was surprisingly nice.

I would be happy to answer any questions about this ship and our home port of Charleston. This is a good option for people who live in driving distance of Charleston (NC, SC & GA). While I have taken many far more expensive and more luxurious trips, I would do this cruise again and will.

You do not take this cruise because you want the latest ship innovations (are you really going to use the climbing wall or watch a giant screen TV?) or the most exotic ports, you take it because you do not have to suffer the stress of flying, which hasn't been fun since 9/11, and you can expect a great staff and 5 fun nights of a good time without your cell phone ringing.

Thanks for the review, but you forgot Tennessee on your "drive to the port easily" list. At least, east Tn. I will be driving in Friday for my Saturday Fantasy B2B!

Thanks for pointing that out. And Tennessee is too beautiful a State to forget. Driving to Charleston from eastern TN is certainly much easier than most flying these days. I hope you have a great cruise this weekend!
