uirishtoo Posted December 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2012 The Hampton is booked-any suggestions for alternate lodging? We have 2nights pre cruise-dec28. Thanks Grace Ann
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2012 There are several hotels that are nearby and also close (10 minutes) to the Port Of Miami. They include: Intercontinental. Marriott Marquis Marriott Hyatt Holiday Inn Bayside. There are more but this will give you a good start. Keith
JohninDC Posted December 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2012 For 2 nights pre-cruise I would skip downtown Miami and focus on South Beach -- much more to do (restaurants, bars, nightlife, beach, etc.). Good luck! :)
uirishtoo Posted December 11, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Would love to do South Beach but it is way too expensive for the weekend before NYE, thanks for the ideas!! Grace Ann
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Grace Ann, you can just take a taxi over to South Beach from any of these locations for the day or for the evening, etc. Keith
JohninDC Posted December 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2012 I would add the Doubletree Biscayne to Keith's list - next door to the Marriott and some rooms offer a view of the port! :D

Keith I humbly add: Hotel Urbano Downtown Courtyard Casa Moderrna Hilton There are more, but the pricing goes up. Sometimes there are good deals at: Conrad Four Seasons But I wouldn't bet on it for NYE
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2012 I would add that prices are running high around this time of year. We'll be there around then and prices at many places are higher than the last two years. Also, since we booked our hotel rates has gone up considerably. It's not only the cruise ships that drive this but many people from South America vacation here this time of year including many now from Brazil. miamiyogi Posted December 13, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 13, 2012 Hiw about the four seasons? Good location? Or the comfort suites downtown? Grace Ann Hey Grace, not familiar with a Comfort Suites downtown. Closest one is by the airport. Its so-so, clean comfortable place near the airport. If you aren't interested in seeing Miami it could fit the bill. Four Seasons on Brickell is a fantastic four star hotel in the heart of our financial district. Tons of places to eat and drink nearby and located close to free downtown transportation. Yogi
