dongordon Posted May 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2005 When is RCI due to start using NJ as a home port. Will they cruise from there in the winter, similar to NCL or only during the warmer seasons? Don
PVDCruiser Posted May 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Is that what you mean? http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ports/group/home.do;jsessionid=00009iBMIy_fyxTJTPvFnQwLhy_:v29bc4qk?portType=DEPART&portCode=BYE

mabinbklyn Posted May 30, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Hi Don! Mary from our Dawn cruise in February. As indicated, I don't think RCI has NYC year round in their announced plans. Hoping that NCL's success and the new Brooklyn pier will help them change their minds, though! HATE Bayonne though. Did the Voyager out of Bayonne last August and disembarkation was an unmitigated disaster. From what I gather on these boards, it still is. Don't know why they can't get it straight. Hope all is well. M
dongordon Posted May 31, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Good to hear from you again. I like the idea of the 9-day cruise on RCI...wish it was in the winter - February ( I need that President's week break!). Looks as though I will be on the NCL Spirit next February as it is replacing the 7-day Dawn cruise. How did you enjoy your Voyage cruise and how would you compare it to the Dawn? yogimax Posted May 31, 2005 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Hoping that NCL's success and the new Brooklyn pier will help them change their minds, though! HATE Bayonne though. M Amen! Let's hope NYC gets with it and expedites the Brooklyn site. What a bummer it was when RCL moved to Bayonne. Please come back RCL!!!
templed Posted May 31, 2005 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Red Hook Brooklyn ... I may be wrong... but aren't they shooting for Spring 2006? I honestly don't know how well that's going to go over with people... the area that they are building it is HORRIBLY congested... Right near the Battery Tunnel... off the BQE... I can't IMAGINE what the traffic will be like on Cruise days...
