Aft Cabins on Reflection

Hi All, I know reviews are just starting to come in on the Reflection....I was wondering if anybody has had a cabin aft on Resort Deck. We have cabin 2219 & 2221 booked and were wondering about noise & smoking from above, any ash from the ship's exhaust, or anything else that might be an issue. Only had aft cabin once before and it was many, many years ago on Millie. This is a mini family reunion and the other family members will be joining us in our two cabins nightly for pre-dinner drinks and want to make sure it will be a nice & enjoyable time. Also, do the privacy walls open up back there like they do on some other ships to make one big balcony? Thanks so much.

We had an aft cabin on the Reflection, but on Deck 6. Excellent views, great location (although a bit of a walk to the elevators).

To answer your questions:

Yes the balconies open up to make a larger balcony, although only half of the dividing glass opens (the half closest to the water folds in towards the half by the room). This has to be done by your room steward with a special key, it isn't something you can open on your own.

Noise and smoke from above shouldn't be an issue on Reflection, as the sunset bar is one deck above the Oceanview Cafe, on Deck 15. That is also where the smoking area is (on Deck 15, Port-Side). With the bar/smoking area being 2 decks away from you (as opposed to one deck on the other Celebrity ships), you shouldn't have any issues at all with Smoke or Noise. The only time Noise could be in issue is during Breakfast/Lunch when the Oceanview Cafe is busy, and lots of people are eating on the aft deck on 14 above you.

As far as soot/ash goes, yes it will be there (depending on the wind) but we didn't find it to be a huge issue. There isn't massive amounts of it, all we had to do was just take a cloth from the bathroom and wipe it down the table and chairs once in the morning, and it was usually fine for the day. You can also ask the stateroom attendant to hose it down for you, but we didn't find that to be necessary. We didn't have a problem with it, and the view certainly made up for that minor inconvenience.
