Pre-trip report thread, Boarding Passes useless?

If they're doing security checks at the Port, you often have to present a Boarding Pass.

 

Otherwise they normally check for a Boarding Pass to get into the Port Check-In building.

 

The check-in agent scans the QR code on the Boarding Pass to call up your record.
