eminence_front Posted May 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Why is it more expensive to book the port excursions on the ship rather than in advance? (Can't so so in advance because we don't possess a credit card - our personal choice.)
eminence_front Posted May 30, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted May 30, 2005 can't "do so" in advance, not "so so" ...
WindyCity Posted May 31, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2005 If you have a debit card you can use that to pre-book shore excursions. That is what we use.
traveller99 Posted May 31, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Why is it more expensive to book the port excursions on the ship rather than in advance? (Can't [do] so in advance because we don't possess a credit card - our personal choice.) Just like many advanced entertainment venues $50 now - $60 at the door. Book your cruise early and save some $$ - otherwise it usually costs more closer to the sail date. Your debit card may allow you to purchase in advance. Now, that said, I'm not sure all cruise lines have a difference in price for pre-cruise vs. purchasing on the ship.
serene56 Posted May 31, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Do you have a debit card? I use this to hold my space on upcoming excursions. It dont get charged until we go. Its more expensive because you are buyingpiece of mind. If the tour is running late the ship will wait for you-unlike the private vendors. Excursion is one of the venues that make the cruiselines some profit.
