Travellingtaff Posted December 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Does Princess offer shuttles to Kowloon or Hong Kong, and Shanghai? When we were on the Diamond complimentary shuttles were offered at both ports. In Hong Kong we were taken to a department store in Kowloon, about 10 minutes walk from the Star Ferry terminal. In Shanghai we were taken to the Silk Museum aka retail outlet.
paul929207 Posted December 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2012 The Ocean Princess docked in downtown in both ports. In HK we were right next to the Star Ferry in Kowloon. In Shanghai, we were along the Bund, across from the Pudong and a half mile or so from Nanking Road. No need for a shuttle in either port.

cee cee1 Posted December 23, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2012 Is there anything worth doing near the silk store? Not much! and from memory (it was 18 months ago that we were there)it's a fair walk from there into The Bund etc. I couldn't understand why they dropped us there at all. Just a "buying opportunity". Travellingtaff Posted December 23, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 23, 2012 Is there anything worth doing near the silk store? We spent no time there at all, it's basically a shopping venue with street touts selling "Rolex" watches 3 for $10. We simply used the location to meet a private guide with whom we had pre-arranged a city tour. She dropped us off there at the end of the tour to meet the shuttle bus. As far as I remember we were sailing quite late so we took a taxi back to the Bund and spent a pleasant hour or so there.

Just make sure that you have the location you want to visit written in Chinese on a piece of paper...as most drivers do not speak english. We still remember the genuine smiles from the drivers after we insisted they keep the change. :)
