Riskytou Posted December 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2012 I just booked with Navigator, but alas thought the price listed was for both. Weighing in if the "free" excursions will assist with the overall price. But unable to see what excursions are offered. Does anyone have the list of free or if they offer upgraded excursions? Going in July 2013.
DaveFr Posted December 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2012 Click on the following link (http://www.rssc.com/cruises/NAV130717/activities/regent-choice-plus-free/day-3/default/default.aspx). On the website page that opens up, click on the link that says "Receive All Available Tours Via E-mail," input an e-mail address and click Submit. A complete list and description of all excursions available will be sent to you in a minute or two. Hope this helps.
gillianrose Posted December 31, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I followed the link posted by DaveFr, and was shocked to see that the TRACY ARM FJORD & GLACIER EXPLORER tour is $149. I thought there would be a small additional fare or at most $99, but $149 is nearly the full cost of the tour.
tallship Posted December 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Alas, we have been to Alaska the last two years with Regent and included excursions there are a bit of a farce. Some of the upcharge excursions such as the evening whale watch, are in fact cheaper if You contact their tour operator and request the pricing. Others are the same as Oceania's pricing. Not sure why this is because for excursions like Tracey Arm or the Evening Whale Watch there should only be a small upcharge. Note that you have already paid for an excursion on the day you take Tracey Arm, Evening Whale watch, etc.....smart of Regent to get us to pay twice as there is no rebate if you opt out of their "included" option. I understand that they cannot include the helicoper rides or the float planes but when you can obtain the same or similar large group excursion for the same or less then it is not an included excursion experience. On a positive note, you will love Tracey Arm ....and soon forget the hit on your wallet. I would book it as it fills up fast and is wonderful. Rare RachelG Posted December 31, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I know the Tracy arm excursion seems expensive, but it is well worth it. And as I recall, when we went there, now about 10 years ago, not on regent, that was about how much it cost.
