footballbabe3 Posted December 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2012 Everyone says that the casinos use the point system which I see when we use the slots, but while I am at the machines my husband is at the roulette table. So how would he get any points?
krzi Posted December 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2012 Every casino has their own algorithm to calculate but I copied this from my other post. In table games they use something called Average Bet to give you points and comps. In essence its a lot lower than what you get from slots (coin in) but that is ebcause the house has a lower edge on table games. Table Games - Average Bet: Depending on the type of game you are playing, the calculation may be different. The reason most casinos use Average Bet is because every table game has a house edge and the odds for the player to win. Average bet is calculated based on your average bet recorded periodically by the floor person (supervisor). Example: you bet $10 every hand in blackjack, each shoe in blackjack should last no more than 15 minutes, each shoe generally has 40-50 hands. Within 15 minutes, if you only place $10 every hand you should have put up $400-$500. Blackjack has a 40% odds for the player, 60% odds for the house. If we follow simple math, every shoe you are expected to lose $40-$50 (sometimes more sometimes less based on your luck). Now the casino knows this is how much they can make from you within an hour they will set their system (based on their rewards program) to how much comps or points you will earn. In Harrahs, an average bet of $10 will get you 3 comp dollars every hour. In Borgata an average bet of $10 will earn you 2 comp dollar every hour. This is why it is important to always be rated especially if you "raise" your bet as it will raise your Average bet.
