Miami Airport to Hampton Inn Brickell via MetroRail Orange Line

Has anyone done this route? Safe after dark? The Hampton Inn website says the closest station is about a half block from the hotel. I am considering this option as it's just myself & DH , each will have one 26" suitcase that roll nice & no carryons. We have a packable carry on type bag we'll put our necessary things in prior to leaving for the port. Our flight arrives in Miami on a Friday night and we'll have our luggage collected around 8.

The metrorail in general is pretty safe. It does go trough some funky neighborhoods departing the airport. You may not feel comfortable after dark. Walking to it on both ends (Brickell and Airport) is very safe...always use standard safety precautions when visiting a large US city like Miami.
