Dress on Silversea

We are thinking of going on the Silversea- we love the idea of a luxury cruise for our honeymoon.

We are a little concerned about the dress code. A few formal nights are great- but with 3 formal nights and 4 informal on a 10 day cruise- are guys expected to wear jackets 7 of the 10 nights? Is that shipwide, or just for the MDR? If we went to dinner dressed, could we return to the cabin and change into something more casual for the rest of the evening?

Is this pretty similar on other luxury cruiselines?

Dress code is adhered to, however, formal for women can be dressy slacks and fancy top, wear the same slacks/skirt and take one or two tops. For men a jacket is require in all restaurants on informal nights and on formal nights a tux or dark suit is fine. On formal nights La Terazza is fine with a jacket and tie. This helps weight and packing. In cruising SS for 19 years, we find many do not take a different outfit for each night. Many men do not have tuxes and wear the darker suits. Usually it is stated dress code is from about 6pm on. Hope this helps. Enjoy.
