Cabin Choices

We have two cabin questions.

1. Should we be worried about getting specialty restaurant reservations on the nights/ times we want if we don't get a concierge class room?

2. I noticed that the extended balcony cabins are above the dining room or crew quarters. Has anyone stayed in them on the Riviera (or Marina). Any problems with noise?

Thank you..

We booked online, the day the reservations opened for the non-concierge cabins. We were able to get the 7:30 times we wanted for two of the restaurants, and took 8:30 for the other two. Once onboard, we were able to switch them to 7:30. They only open a certain percentage for online booking- the rest are for people to book aboard the ship.

We took a cabin with the extended balcony on our last cruise - right over the dining room. Never heard a thing and loved the extended balcony. Wifi connection in the room was good, too. We booked one for our next cruise as well, but got a great upsell for a PH, so we switched, but are planning on booking another B4 (now it is B3) balcony for our cruise after this one.

It depends on how important get the right time is for you

There is no pat answer

It all depends on the other passengers & what time they prefer on your particular sailing

Some cruises get more people that want the early times & other cruise get more people that prefer later times

we were in the extended balcony on Marina over the dining room & never heard a peep

Are these cabins the ones that are on Deck 7, aft? what are the approximate dimensions?

Those cabins are identical in size to any other category B, as is the width of the verandah (which matches the width of the cabin).

The depth of those verandas (and by that I mean the distance from the cabin door to the railing, is about three times greater than is standard elsewhere on the ship (I'm guestimating 12 feet versus 4 feet).

To: Stephloves loves. A couple of years ago my husband were on a 16 day cruise on the Marina and in one of the cabins with an extended balcony's on level 7. I never knew we were above a dining room -- it was very quiet and the extra space on the balcony is an added benefit.

Our TA landed us a B4 cabin (7119) for our upcoming Tahiti to Lima cruise in April and we're very pleased with this, especially as we've never cruised Oceania before. Quite looking forwared to it especially with the descriptions in this thread.

Unfortunately all of the extended balconies were taken so it is a regular balcony for us- so excited anyways.

You could always ask to be waitlisted for one of the B3's if one becomes available

Your cruise is a long way off & things to happen ;)
