beaches near Kings Wharf for kids?

The only beach with facilities near King's Wharf would be Snorkel Park which is a man made beach and atypical of the other public beaches in Bermuda; plus there is an entry fee. If you want to be in walking distance of KW, that is the only beach.

TA reviews tell you all you need to know: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147258-d147475-Reviews-Bermuda_Snorkel_Park-Warwick_Parish_Bermuda.html

how far away is Horseshoe bay away from kings wharf

By bus about 40min, we made it there by taxi in 20min. The bus stop is at the top of the hill, its a 5-7 min walk down to the beach, the road is a little step for some. Their are taxi's and vans that offer a ride to the top for $2.00 I think

so the taxis take you right to the beach then? whats cost on a taxi roughly to there?

Yes, don't quote me I think it was $20??? plus tip for one way. We took the bus back. If you do go to HB depending on the month you go get there EARLY. We caught a cab at 8:30am. Got to the beach at 9 and turned left and walked down the beach about 10-15 minutes. Glad we did, on our way back around 3 pm the main beach was a zoo, it was jam packed with people.

By any chance…do you remember how many people fit in the taxi? Was the fee $20 per person?

Also, where (which beaches) did you walk to?

And by "jam packed" is it really that bad? I live in NY, our beaches on the weekends are so crowded we overlap blankets and usually end up climbing over people to leave! Is that what you mean?

Taxis normally fit up to 6 passengers, and the fare is for the trip not per passenger per trip. BTW, the fare to HSB is closer to $28.00 for 4 passengers and $34.00 for 6 passengers b4 tip on weekdays and Saturday.

The beaches you can walk to from HSB are Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay, Jobson's Cove , and Warwick Long Bay, respectively. The distance from the first beach (HSB) to the last beach (WLB) is about .6 miles.

HSB does not get as crowded like a New York beach and if it did, you could just walk northeast to the next beach(es) which are never crowded.
