luv2cruise523 Posted January 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2013 We will be traveling with my dad and he recently started using O2 and now I'm not sure if he will be able to cruise with us. He uses an oxygen concentrator. Has anyone experienced cruising with O2?
Pomperaugrr Posted January 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Contact the RCI Special Needs Dept. He can cruise with oxygen tanks and the concentrator. They will provide all of the necessary information. Eric

spookwife Posted January 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2013 saw several people on O2 our last cruise.. anything from those tiny little thingies that convert the air to a full size tank being rolled along on a dolley.
EVALUATOR Posted January 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Just keep in mind if you are flying you most likely will not be allowed tanks on the plane.
teajak Posted January 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2013 My husband just started using oxygen before our last cruise in Dec.I contacted our supplier and they brought us a portable concentrater. It is the size of a small suitcase,on wheels with a pull up handle,is battery or plug in operated, worked great. Easy to manipulate and no tanks involved.Hope this helps. 138east Posted January 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2013 My mother used O2 and I did 5 cruises with her and a variety of gear including a portable machine, a full sized concentrator, and oxygen tubes. You have to carry on the equipment so I had the portable machine in a tote bag on the back of the wheelchair, the large machine strapped to a luggage dolly, and a suitcase full of oxygen tubes. You can get assistance if you need it which was wonderful. I'm so glad I did it because my mom adored those trips.
