What are the chances

What do you think the chances are the Hawaii cruise I'm looking for 4/28/14 will go down in price?? After looking at prices for 2013 for certain months the prices came down considerably. We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in '14 and we could go any month. We did Hawaii in '07 and would love to go back.

We paid $1,599 per person for a balcony and it never went any lower.

Last two cruises my price went lower but that is in the Caribbean during months when there seems to be more competition.

That sounds like an excellent price. We've been considering booking a cruise to Hawaii. I checked multiple cruise lines a few times, but haven't consistently monitored prices. I don't ever remember seeing a price that low. Is that common? I wouldn't hesitate to book at that price.

Since it's based on supply & demand it's hard to predict pricing. If you're not aware of it every sale promotion I've seen in the past year or so has come with a 'non-refundable, non-transferable' deposit. My experience has been that Princess does not waive this restriction although they have 'upgraded' us to a cabin that is the same price as we were paying. Losing a $100 FCC deposit for a substantial price reduction may be beneficial but may not be so for a full deposit.

 

If you book a non-sale price future price reductions are easy to get although if they are a sales promotion price will most likely come with the 'non-refundable, non-transferable' deposit which severely restricts any future price reductions.
