Goyaks Posted January 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2013 Has anyone been to this beach. If so, what is there to do there? How much is the taxi fare? How far away is it from the cruise port? Thanks
Rare MrSchwump Posted January 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2013 It's more of a looking at beach than a swimming/activity beach. It is a beautiful vista and a great spot fir photos, but not somewhere to splash around.

That's what I read, would like to check it out for pics, do you know about how much a taxi would cost to get there and back to the port?
ricks2047 Posted January 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2013 It is a beautiful place and if you walk the beach North you will find places with pools in the rocks that are wonderful for splashing around in.
bee-ess Posted January 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2013 The East coast has wonderful scenery and my advice would be to hire a car for the day - there is a booth (Stoutes) right outside the cruise terminal. It makes a wonderful day exploring the East Coast and you can have a stop off at Bottom Bay (prettiest beach on the island and only really reachable by car). If you are there on a Friday Evening, hang on to the car and go to Oistins Fish Fry on the way back to the ship.
seashinesunshine Posted January 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2013 Has anyone been to this beach. If so, what is there to do there? How much is the taxi fare? How far away is it from the cruise port? Thanks We were just there last week. We asked a taxi to take us there to spend an hour then take us back. It is not a very populated area, so I wasn't sure of a taxi waiting when we were ready to go back. They wanted 130$. By time we finished walking past all the taxis, the price was down to 80$. Way too much for us. We were asking for about 2 1/5 hours of time. We took the bus. There were two bus terminals within walking distance of the port. The one you need it farthur from the port. It is about 20 minute walk off the port to the right on the main road. Keep asking and people will help you. Just make sure you get to the one that goes to Bathsheba. The bus fair is about 75 cents. It leaves on the hour, so don't be 5 minutes late like were were. It will pick you up where it drops you off eery hour on the hour, don't be late, it came a few minutes early and didn't stop because were weren't standing by the sign. The bus ride is about 40 minutes and is fun. It is very pretty and tons of pictures are waiting to be cauptured. It is possible you may be able to take a taxi to the bus stop for about 5$. The bus stop you want is right by Carlise Bay, the taxi home from the Bay is 5$, so it is reasonable.
