StLucia Posted January 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2013 We need to get an early tender so that we are off the ship in time for a tour pick up 15 minutes after we are due to dock. We are in a C1 does that gives priority or how can we make sure we are on an early tender? What is the procedure for the issuing of tender tickets? I have noticed that the ships tours don't start until over an hour after we dock.
Rare ghstudio Posted January 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Each ship does tender tickets a different way. Basically, it's first come first served unless you are either at the elite level of their captain's club or in a suite....both of which get priority boarding passes. However, those on ship's tours generally go first...even before priority folks. I don't want to dash your hopes, but it is highly unlikely that you will make a tour starting 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time when you have to tender. I'd talk to guest relations and see if there's anything they can do to help. As you can imagine, they get many requests like this so you may get an automatic "sorry, we can't help". Good luck
spookwife Posted January 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2013 keep in mind too that the first tender may NOT leave in time for you to catch that tour even if you were able to snag a berth.
LeftcoastBC Posted January 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I take it that you are NOT on a ships tour? of course if you are there is no problem. Those on ships tour will go first. You could/would have priority IF you are an Elite pax with Celebrity. Other than that you will have to fend for yourself and just make sure you are first in line for general boarding of tenders after their tours go....or make special arrangements for a special occurrence with Ship staff prior to your arrival in Hawaii. C1 does not give you tender priority to my knowledge. Didn't mean to repeat stuff we all posted about the same time :)
StLucia Posted January 15, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you for your responses and advice. The ships tours do not start until over an hour after the ship docks, will there be tenders before then?

Lsimon Posted January 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Discuss this with your tour operator. If they frequently do excursions for cruisers they will be familiar with the uncertain timing and can advice you whether it will be OK or a problem if you are running late. Just let them know the time your ship arrives in port and that you are uncertain exactly when you'll be able to get onshore. This hasn't been a problem with tour operators at other ports who commonly take cruise passengers unless it is a group tour that will have non-cruise passengers as well. I have already emailed them. Unfortunately we are going on a flight so limited flexibility. Just have to see what they say.
StLucia Posted January 16, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted January 16, 2013 We have changed our flight time and will now be picked up at the pier at 10am. Do you think this will be okay? On our other cruises the last ended normally leaves 30mins prior to scheduled departure time, is this the same with Celebrity? Thanks once agaIn for you help. However things often change...such as when we went to Hawaii in November they (X) advised just a week or so prior we would be arriving in Hawaii a whole day earlier than advertised. .... and the scramble was on. You should really have this worked out with your tour operator.....or if it is a scheduled flt. be aware of the ramifications of change in the ships arrival to your budget. Thank you for your advice, fortunately we can give 48 hours notice to cancel without charge so that should cover us.
