Upgrade from inside to balcony - Epic

Did I make a mistake - the balcony cabin is on deck 8 over the life boats and uncovered. It is not for me, My DH and I are in an Aft balcony. :D We originaly booked my SIL and DD in an inside but felt guilty that they would be without a balcony. It is a first cruise for both and I want them to really enjoy themselves. I kind of think that since they have not cruised before they will not really know the difference (I will just keep them away from our aft) lol. Thoughts?

I would take the Balcony on deck 8 over the inside anyday. I'm sure they will be happy to have an ocean view even if it is over the life boats and uncovered!

If they have never been on a cruise I think the Inerior is fine. Thats where most of us started years ago.

Im thinking they will be out and about all the time anyways

But than again 2 women in an inside with not much storage space:eek:

My DH thinks they should be happy with what they get because they are not paying for it and he would take a free cruise and be happy with an inside. Guess thats true but I know he prefers the balcony cabins since that is all we have had...;)

Just tell them you got the opportunity to upgrade them from an inside room to this one, and you thought they would feel more in touch with the sea and sun. Some people love the uncovered balconies because of the sun exposure, so don't assume this is a bad thing. :)

+1 for this. We are going with my GF's mother and her SO in their 60's and it's their first (and possibly only) time cruising on this kind of ships. When we started to plan this trip last summer, we agreed booking OVs but later I found a great group price for BE balcony cabins on the Epic and I booked those instead for the first leg of our B2B - we still have obstructed OVs on the Pearl.

So hopefully the balcony will stay secret to them until they step into their cabin and see it, but I'm sure that they'd be delighted even if it was a hull balcony and the bed was by the door. :D :D
